2008 marks the 33rd season for the American Founders Bank Woodland Art Fair, a staple of the Lexington art scene. Two hundred juried artists from across the country will sell their work to art-appreciative fair patrons strolling through historic downtown Woodland Park Saturday, August 16th and Sunday, August 17th.
Voted as one of the top 40 arts and crafts fairs in 2006 by Sunshine Artists Magazine, the Woodland Art Fair has attracted more than 60,000 visitors a year, gaining recognition from both the Kentucky Tourism Council and the South East Tourism Society as a top ten tourist event.
While there will be artisans displaying their craftsmanship – jewelry, painting, wood, metal, ceramics and photography, among other crafts – there will also be live entertainment and an area designated for families with children to create their own arts and crafts. In addition to these festivities, food vendors will adorn the fair with a variety of eating options to delight the senses.
I'll be playing in the gazebo from 10:30-11:30, and under the shade trees after that.
